Job Description
Position Overview
We are looking for a General Labourer to join a field-based operations team for one of our clients. This role involves hands-on outdoor work supporting vegetation management, site maintenance, and environmental restoration projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vegetation control and brush clearing using hand tools and equipment
- Assist with mowing, trimming, and weed control on pipelines, rights-of-way, and industrial sites
- Support herbicide application programs
- Assist with hydroseeding, seeding, and land reclamation activities
- Install and maintain erosion and sediment control measures
- Complete site cleanup, debris removal, and general labour tasks
- Assist with spill response and environmental remediation projects
- Load/unload equipment and materials and maintain clean work areas
Work Conditions
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Physically demanding
Schedule
- 10-hour days
- 5-6 days a week
- Contract will be approximately 6 weeks
- Home every night (no camp work)
- No work on rainy days
Training & Support
Onsite training will be provided to ensure competency with project tasks.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Experience with equipments, mowers, etc.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (clean abstract preferred)
- H2S Alive
- OFA Intermediate (Level 2)
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Wildlife Awareness / Bear Awareness
Ideal Candidate
- Local to the Fort St. John area
- Safety-focused with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
- Mechanically inclined with basic troubleshooting ability
Salary
Pay: Starting CA$27.00 per hour
