Job Description
Position Overview
We are currently looking for an Environmental Coordinator for one of our clients in the environmental consulting industry. The Environmental Coordinator will support the Environmental Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing projects. This role may involve overseeing budgets, timelines, deliverables, advanced fieldwork, and technical reporting. The position also maintains close coordination with field teams, and occasional fieldwork may be required depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage project documentation including contracts, drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
- Assist field operations with cost control, scheduling, planning, and estimating.
- Support remediation initiatives such as Stage 1 and 2 ESAs, Phase I and II assessments, soil and groundwater treatment and monitoring, and risk assessments.
- Assist with reclamation programs, including Schedule B and detailed site assessments.
- Prepare and review technical reports, including signing off on factual documentation where applicable.
- Manage and organize project data and documentation for both internal and client systems.
- Coordinate and liaise with contractors to ensure project execution aligns with expectations.
- Meet billable hour targets as established by leadership.
- Deliver a high standard of service to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or degree (2-year minimum) in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 4 years of field experience related to contaminated sites, reclamation, or natural sciences within British Columbia.
- Progress toward a recognized professional designation in BC is considered an asset.
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing technical reports.
- Familiarity with BCER regulatory requirements is an advantage.
- Understanding of project lifecycle activities, including planning, scheduling, cost controls, and execution.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors and in remote locations under varying weather conditions when required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
- A proactive, motivated mindset with a strong focus on delivering exceptional client service.
Salary & Other Info
Pay: CA$38.00 - CA$45.00 per hour
