Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Safety and Operations Coordinator for our client, a prominent organization committed to operational excellence and safety. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is eager to learn, grow, and take pride in contributing to the company’s success. This position is crucial in managing various administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations and compliance within the Operations & Safety teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Subcontractor Management Program, ensuring compliance with liability insurance and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) regulations.
  • Coordinate safety training for employees, ensuring all staff stay up-to-date with safety protocols using compliance platforms like ISN and Comply Works.
  • Assist with hiring and onboarding processes for field personnel, ensuring compliance with requirements such as Workhub and Site Docs.
  • Support annual vehicle inspections, manage insurance renewals, and track maintenance records for the fleet of trucks and equipment.
  • Handle the procurement of parts and supplies for vehicle maintenance and assist with asset tracking to ensure all equipment is logged and signed out accurately.
  • Compile project documentation, including obtaining necessary permits for lowbed trucks and completing annual equipment hire forms for clients, such as those requested by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTi) and BC Wildfire.
  • Provide cross-training for other administrative positions within the office to facilitate holiday coverage and ensure team continuity.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A materials and warehousing coordinator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in related fields, ideally within the upstream oil and gas sector.
  • Proven background in managing inventory for equipment and parts that support planned maintenance activities, covering areas such as mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, and consumables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively engage with both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Educational qualifications such as a Technical Diploma related to Upstream Oil & Gas operations or Supply Chain/Materials Management are preferred.
  • Familiarity with integrated systems related to inventory, logistics, receiving, and shipping processes.
  • Relevant certifications including Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Provincial First Aid, and a valid driver’s license abstract.
  • Ability to lift materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in field settings with provided accommodations while on shifts.
  • Current work schedule expected to be 5 days on, 2 days off, with potential adjustments in the future.
