Job Description
Are you an experienced driver with a passion for safety and efficiency? Our client is seeking a Field Driver to transport personnel, materials, and equipment safely to various job sites, including rural and industrial locations like construction and oil and gas sites. What You'll Do:
- Drive with Safety: Operate company vehicles to transport staff and materials across northern BC – safety first!
- Staff Transportation: Pick up and drop off employees at designated spots in the Northern BC area and Grande Prairie. Be prepared for weekend shifts if needed.
- Load & Unload: Handle the transportation of various materials, ensuring everything is secured and meets safety standards.
- Plan Your Route: Use GPS and maps to find the best routes, adjusting for traffic and weather to keep on schedule.
- Vehicle Care: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and manage basic maintenance to keep your vehicle in top shape.
- Keep Records: Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and cargo details as required by company policies.
- Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety policies, traffic laws, and government regulations.
- Communicate Effectively: Work closely with dispatchers, management, and clients, ensuring a high standard of customer service.
- Stay Active: Be ready for physical tasks, including lifting heavy items (up to 75 lbs) and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Driver’s License: Class 5 license required; Class 3 is a bonus!
- Clean Driving Record: A solid driving abstract is a must.
- Experience: Proven driving experience in industrial and O&G settings is highly valued.
- Safety Certifications: First Aid certification is a plus.
- Navigation Skills: Proficient in navigating with technology and familiar with the area.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physical labor and work in various weather conditions.
- Communication Skills: Friendly and effective communication is key, especially with team members and clients.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable, with the ability to work independently when needed.
Salary Information
Pay: From CA$32.00 per hour
