Position Summary:
The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, identifying, and repairing issues in structural, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy-duty mechanics and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and participate actively in workplace safety initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve repair and maintenance goals.
- Diagnose and repair faults in a variety of vehicles, including tractor trailers and tracked equipment.
- Follow direction from the shop manager and foreman.
- Utilize hand and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance safely.
- Operate equipment in compliance with relevant legislation.
- Demonstrate flexibility in job duties as required.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.

Licenses and Certifications:

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement
- Current Driver's abstract
- CSO - Common Safety Orientation Certificate
- Valid OFA Level 1 First Aid Certificate
- Valid H2S Certificate
- Oilfield Driver Awareness Certificate (preferred)
- Inter Provincial Mechanic Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification

Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant mechanical experience preferred.
- Strong experience in commercial truck and trailer repairs.
- Familiarity with equipment brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Link Belt, John Deere, Volvo, Western Star, and Freightliner.

Salary Information
Wage:
- $45 - $50/hour (Wage will be based on Experience)

Work Schedule:
- Shift options: 10-hour, 12-hour, and 8-hour shifts.
