Job Description
Position Overview
We are currently hiring on behalf of a valued client for a reliable and safety-focused ROW Laborer / ATV Operator to support produced water pipeline monitoring operations. This position involves traveling daily along right-of-ways (ROWs) to conduct pressure checks, environmental inspections, and data collection using company-provided tools and applications.
This is an outdoor, field-based role best suited for individuals who are experienced operating ATVs in challenging and varied terrain.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel along pipeline right-of-ways using ATV and/or truck access points
- Conduct routine liner pressure checks at designated intervals
- Inspect ROWs for environmental concerns such as dead or distressed vegetation, erosion, ground disturbance, and potential contamination indicators
- Capture and upload field data and photos using company apps
- Perform daily permitting with client operations
- Safely load, transport, and unload ATVs to and from worksites
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Work Conditions
- Primarily ATV-based work in complex terrain including steep hills, side slopes, creek crossings, and wet or swampy areas
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Physically demanding at times
Schedule
- 10-hour days
- Monday to Friday
- Contract will be approximately 6 weeks
- Home every night (no camp work)
Training & Support
Onsite training will be provided to ensure competency with project tasks, data collection systems, client procedures, and permitting requirements.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (clean abstract preferred)
- H2S Alive
- OFA Intermediate (Level 2)
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Wildlife Awareness / Bear Awareness
- Strong ATV operating experience in challenging terrain
- Comfortable using smartphone or tablet applications for reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- ATV Operator Certification (asset but not required if competency is demonstrated)
- Previous pipeline, environmental monitoring, or ROW inspection experience
Ideal Candidate
- Local to the Fort St. John area
- Safety-focused with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
- Mechanically inclined with basic troubleshooting ability
Salary
Pay: Starting CA$27.00 per hour
